About BaseQ

One clear rating language.

BaseQ keeps separate ratings for separate Quake modes, then presents each on a familiar, 1500-centred scale. Easy to read does not mean interchangeable: CA and Duel remain independent.

Unbounded in both directions. Rounded only when shown.

Duel

Glicko-2

A duel is one player against one player. Glicko-2 updates skill from the result, while rating deviation records how certain the estimate is and volatility tracks how quickly form changes.

Display = rating · Board order = rating − deviation

Clan Arena

TrueSkill 2

CA is team play with round scores and individual evidence. TrueSkill 2 keeps a skill mean (μ) and uncertainty (σ), then assigns credit in the context of team performance.

Display maps μ · Board order maps μ − 3σ

In classic TrueSkill coordinates, the display map is 1500 + (μ − 25) × 50. BaseQ stores equivalent centred units internally and records the affine map with each rating generation. Displayed values are derived, never stored on player rows.

What is live today?

Transparent rollout

The public boards currently show the qlstats-compatible legacy Glicko-1 calculation. Duel · Glicko-2 and CA · TrueSkill 2 are the validated primary-rating direction, but they will be named as live only after their mode-specific generations pass the declared evidence gates and the versioned read path is promoted. The frozen compatibility API does not change.
